Employee Spotlight: Liz Song, Business Development Executive, ViewTrade

What was your first job?

My career started at a research company after graduation, but I soon transitioned to working as cabin crew. Later, I moved into consulting for a FinTech startup supporting business development and venture investment opportunities as part of the Seoul Metropolitan Government Project.

What excites you about financial technology today?

The power to democratize finance and make financial services more accessible to a broader audience. FinTech is breaking down traditional barriers and enabling retail investors and underbanked populations to access financial markets in ways that were previously impossible.

What impact do you hope to make with ViewTrade?

As I lead the Korea and Japan markets at ViewTrade, my goal is to bridge the gap between retail investors in both countries and global markets, making cross-border investing more seamless and accessible. I focus on expanding access to U.S. and global financial products through our technology, while introducing innovative investment services and solutions that help local financial institutions enhance their offerings and remain competitive.

What’s a skill you think will be essential for the future of this industry?

Data literacy will be crucial. With the increasing role of AI and automation in trading and financial services, there’s more data available than ever before—but simply having access to it isn’t enough. What truly matters is the ability to interpret and apply data effectively. In addition, regulatory agility is becoming increasingly important. Companies must be able to adapt quickly to evolving compliance requirements—whether that’s navigating cross-border regulations or responding to new financial reporting standards. Finally, a global perspective will set professionals apart as financial markets continue to become more interconnected.
